Al gore s inconvenient infomercial a movie review

Who is the chubby, aging baby boomer waddling through airport after empty airport, wearily tugging along his 2-piece luggage roller? Hey, it’s not Michael Moore (again). Why, for heaven’s sake, it’s none other than a bored, disgruntled Al Gore, Jr. – the Man Who Personally Believes He Coulda/Woulda/Shoulda Been King! Well, at least Saturday Night Live believed him. Instead of ruling the Western World with a Green Fist, he’s starred in a new movie persuading us to stop using up so much energy. Meanwhile, Al Gore Jr. cruises about foreign capitals in one gas-guzzling, chauffeured Mercedes after another, pondering one very deep thought after another while solemnly tapping away on his Mac Powerbook. Earth to Al Gore: Actor Steven Seagal already nailed down the slick but glazed ‘poseur look’ about nine movies ago.

Is “An Inconvenient Truth” a documentary about Global Warming, or Al Gore’s microphone-grabbing, spotlight-snatching platform to whine about, and revisit, his presidential election loss, six years ago? Is former Veep Gore really hoping to educate film audiences about the very serious dangers of carbon dioxide emissions, greenhouse gases and abrupt climate change, or conniving to create a multi-media white paper for the Democratic Party’s energy agenda? We’re not sure, actually. Perhaps, it is because Al Gore, and the film’s executive producer Davis Guggenheim, were themselves confused as to the direction in which they were heading with this narcissistic political propaganda.

C’mon, a former high-profile Vice President of the United States shuffling through airport security like the rest of us hoi polloi? If so, then why didn’t the alarm bells go off? For those who missed it, in one scene Gore wore a belt buckle the size of a small dish, when passing through the airport’s metal detector. And it didn’t screech? Right! Or how about the scene where a pompous Al Gore (sans bodyguards) was hailing a cab in Manhattan, but no one recognized him? Well, perhaps that part was realistic. Who really cares about Al? Was the former #2 man doing a for-the-people inspirational routine, along the lines of “He Walks Among Us,” so that we’d buy his punch line about self-sacrifice at the end of the movie?

The man, who at one time claimed to have invented the Internet, more carefully documented his alleged 30-year personal campaign to help bring Global Warming to a screeching halt. Amazingly, he didn’t include footnotes with his film speech. We’re sure Gore was anticipating the “I invented the Internet” jokes and dutifully prepared his track record for audiences. He shamelessly dredged up memories of his old Harvard science professor, Roger Revelle, whom he once called into congressional hearings to have the scientist warn about CO2 emissions and rising water temperatures.

How seriously can we take ‘Scientist’ Al Gore? In a Washington Post article (March 19, 2000), Al’s grades and scores were questioned, during the presidential campaign, and the assistant headmaster at Gore’s private school, St. Albans, reportedly “chuckled at (Gore’s) science results.” He had scored so poorly.

Gore’s one constant, his glibness, manifests in this quasi-documentary. Mostly it’s a political infomercial, but for whatever reason Gore was so fervently pitching and hyping Al Gore was never made clear. He hasn’t quite grasped how serious the earth’s climactic changes could impact our civilization, other than flicking through multiple photos of receding glaciers and a few other tidbits. Gore mentions we might have 100 million refugees if sea levels rise, as if those many would actually survive. In contrast, Dr. Lovelock, author of “The Revenge of Gaia,” is forecasting the demise of billions of people under the same “earth is melting” scenario. Whom do we believe? We vote Lovelock, not Gore. After all, the politician admits, in a recent Rolling Stone magazine interview, Lovelock has forgotten more science than Gore has ever learned.

Whatever gravity the poseur portrayed during his supercilious narration, and in his deep-thinking (but awkward) poses, Gore nullified these moments with clumsy flashbacks to the 2000 presidential campaign. (Well, Gore reportedly did a lot of drugs in college, so we guess he's entitled to his flashbacks.) While he claimed in his movie to have moved on, the man still sounded downright bitter during this pre-campaigning film farce. His movie oozes contempt for the man who defeated him, and offers the same ill will toward anyone distantly related – family, business or otherwise – to the man who is now President of the United States. For those who helped keep him out of the White House or dissed him? He repays his enemies in a way only a screenwriter could: Gore adds his enemies to his movie.

Gore’s rapid-fire “subliminal images” are cleverly aimed at Florida and the 2000 presidential campaign. Take that Senator Katherine Harris! Guess which state gets submerged first when the polar ice caps melt? You got it, Florida. Of all the lakes in the world which are drying up, Gore selects Lake Chad. For those who have forgotten, it was the notorious “chads,” which cost Gore the presidency. Darn it Al, will you let it go? It’s been six years, you know. You LOST the election!

Film goers should wonder why an ex-tobacco farmer, and erstwhile U. S. presidential candidate (going 0 for 2 on presidential campaigns), has only NOW come out against fossil fuels because of Global Warming. What’s his agenda? To educate the public? If that is the case, then the filmmakers should have focused on the matter at hand – the earth is getting hotter, and we need a solution. Dr. James Lovelock’s mandate is simple: Nuclear energy is the single solution. Listen up, Hillary Clinton – you might have enjoyed Al’s ramblings, and said so in your pretentious New York Press Club speech last May, but where is Gore’s actual solution to the Global Warming crisis?

The self-righteous Al Jr. offers no solution in his movie. Even when asked by an audience in China for his solution, Gore spouts non-sequiturs – political rhetoric, but no word of a solution. The movie director deftly cuts away before Al can look even sillier, while we wonder why Al offered no solution.

The film shows images of a nuclear reactor, a wind farm and running water. Was the blustering Al or his bewildered movie director hoping the audience would choose a solution for them? At least Ross Perot, in his infomercials, had some solution for the ills then facing America. Al has none. Zippo. Nada. Just join Al’s crusade and start driving a hybrid car. Or did he mean a bicycle? After all, in one scene, Al boasts about the Chinese riding their bicycles and flashes a dated photo showing this. Wake up, Al, last we heard, the Chinese were driving Beemers and Benzes, not bicycles. Bikes are reserved for environmentalist weenies who can’t find a real job.

Al seems to be pro-nuclear, but claims there are problems with proliferation and waste disposal. In an interview with Australia’s The Age newspaper, published in November 2005, Gore told the reporter he was not “reflexively against” nuclear energy. Wearing his hat as a fund manager for the Generation Fund, he told the newspaper that investing in uranium mining comes down to sustainability. In another interview with “Grist Magazine’s” David Roberts, published in May of this year, Gore responded to questioning about the nuclear energy renaissance, saying, “ I doubt nuclear power will play a much larger role than it does now.” How’s that for naivetй in the context of dozens of countries having already announced their plans to advance their nuclear energy programs?

Perhaps, Gore will begin touting renewables, as Hillary Clinton has done on behalf of lapdog/energy guru Amory Lovins. We asked third-term Wyoming legislator, David R. Miller, who is also president of a U. S. uranium development company, Strathmore Minerals, about the madness over renewables becoming a serious factor for baseload electricity generation. Miller told us, “We were 100 percent renewable 300 years ago, 50 percent renewable 100 years ago and 30 percent renewable 50 years ago. Now, we are less than 10 percent renewable and shrinking fast.”

About nuclear energy, Miller added, “It nearly unlimited. We are learning to use better technology to make purer energy to do more for us.” Miller’s rebuttal on Al Gore’s message was emphatic, “Those that preach about saving the earth should practice what they speak, but the loudest voices are those that consume the most.” Miller pointed out, “Only the rich and idle have time to rail against too much consumption. But they want you to stop the consuming, not them.”

One could look deeper to better understand Al Gore’s ambiguity toward any solution. For example, is Al Gore’s family still a large shareholder of Occidental Petroleum? After all, his father took a consultancy with a subsidiary of the multi-national oil firm, upon leaving the U. S. Senate in 1970. Just in time to cash in on the oil embargo of 1973, Al Gore’s dad was paid $500,000 per year for his services. Al Gore Sr. also served as a company director. Why was Al Gore’s father on such great terms with Armand Hammer, the founder of Occidental Petroleum? Hammer was a good buddy of Josef Stalin and his Kremlin successors. Hammer’s dad introduced Little Armand to Stalin, who helped him build the Hammer Empire. All this in return for one small favor: Julius Hammer founded the U. S. Communist Party.

Have the sins of the father visited the son? For the past thirty or forty years, Al Gore has allegedly received a “mining royalty” check from Occidental Petroleum for zinc ore discovered on the Gore family property. Reportedly, Al has been paid about $20,000 annually for mining rights to the property. But, that’s just chump change. Long before the Buddhist Temple fund-raising fiasco in Los Angeles, Al Gore was involved in dubious political financings.

We didn’t look that much more deeply into Al Gore. Truthfully, why bother? Gore’s remorse appears rigged; his acting is pathetic. For example, his sister died of lung cancer, before the family stopped growing tobacco. He makes a really big deal about this in his movie (despite his own alleged chain-smoking habits as a college student). But he failed to mention he continued receiving royalties from his tobacco farm for years after his sister died.

Gore also forgot his vivid 1988 presidential election campaign speeches, defending tobacco farmers in the southern United States. Imagine Mr. Clean telling tobacco farmers about how he, himself, tilled the soil with his bare hands and picked dem dar tobacco leaves wit his own fingers! Our research shows Gore continued accepting campaign donations from tobacco companies until at least 1990. Instead of being truthful with his audience, Gore mentioned in passing that the reason he ran for President in 1988 was to give Global Warming some exposure. Hypocrisy or ambivalence? You decide.

In his film, Gore claimed to have changed the way he performed his congressional duties after his six-year old son was hit by a car and nearly died. Throughout his movie, Gore uses every personal tragedy to play upon the audience’s heart strings. What does that have to do with Global Warming? Nothing, but it aids and abets an otherwise insincere politician to better sell his purported sincerity concerning abrupt climate change. The message is good; the messenger needs to take up a new hobby. Like unsuccessfully running for president again so he can finally get his just deserves: “Strike Three, you’re outa here!”

Why pay good money to get bored out of your skull with this blasй movie? Save the $7 to $10 (or more) on “Al Gore’s Inconvenient Infomercial” by reading the same stuff for no charge whatsoever (and without the deep-thinking, brooding ex-politician who spends nearly all of his 100 minutes preaching in your face). Kevin Bambrough and Eric Sprott wrote a detailed report, covering a great deal, if not more than what the Gore movie attempted to discuss.

Argentina travel - buenos aires mar del plata iguaz╨│ falls tierra del fuego and patagonia

Argentina is on the way back from the economic crisis of the last few years. If you are looking for a travel destination, Argentina is amazing and cheap.

Economic Woes

While Argentina has unlimited beauty, it also has unlimited corruption. The massive corruption finally lead to an economic crisis at the turn of the century. With the currency devalued and jobs hard to find, Argentina was a decidedly dangerous place for travelers. At one point, the country was going through Presidents faster than I go through coffee. At one point, the country went through five of them in a month! Wait, that might not be such a bad idea. Regardless, things appear to have stabilized and the country is back on the travel map. So, what’s to see?

Buenos Aires

Prior to landing in Buenos Aires, you are strongly encouraged to glue your jaw shut. Buenos Aires is a city of jaw-dropping beauty. In many ways, you will feel as though you have magically been transported to Vienna. The European impression is overwhelming. The city is elegance itself. If you’re a meat eater, make sure you experience one of the steak houses. You won’t be disappointed.

Mar del Plata

You’ve been doing sit ups, right? The Mar de Plata is the hot beach area. Literally. Damn hot, sometimes. If you wish to pursue a little melanoma research, this is the place. If you prefer to pass on the cancer research, you can hit the Mar de Plata Aquarium, play golf on five different courses. The area is also rife with discos. Try the ones on the “Noisy Avenue”, but don’t mention my name. There were…problems last time I was there.

Iguazъ Falls

If you like waterfalls, this is the place for you. The Iquaza Falls are twice as wide and taller than Niagara Falls. The Falls actually consist of over 250 cascades that came into existence due to a volcanic eruption. If you can, try to visit the falls in the spring or fall as it is ungodly hot and humid in the summer.

Tierra del Fuego

Welcome to the end of the world. At least, that’s the hook for Tierra del Fuego. Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego, is the southernmost city in the world. From the city, you can take the “end of the world” train to see incredible snow covered mountain ranges in the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Words fail me, but the area is definitely worth visiting. Come on, you rode the elephants in Thailand, didn’t you? Patagonia

No, we are not talking about the clothing line. Patagonia is located in a vast area below Buenos Aires and is famous for uncompromised beauty. Greater Patagonia is actually split between Chile and Argentina. The section in Argentina is filled with glaciers, national parks and so on. I can’t possibly describe it, so I’m not even going to try. Just know that you will not be disappointed.

Argentina

From glaciers to beaches, from elegant cities to friendly little towns, Argentina is a top travel destination. With the economy stabilizing, now is the time to go.

Why keywords are vital to an seo campaign

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the optimization of a web page in order that it ranks higher in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) for specific keywords or keyword phrases. The pages that rank higher typically gain the greater amount of search engine traffic compared to pages ranked lower for the same keyword. The majority of web users click on one of the top 5 results on the first page when they complete a search. As such, the ultimate goal of any SEO (Search Engine Optimizer) is to gain one of these coveted top spots, with the number one ranking being the primary objective.

Targeting Keywords

However, a top position for any keyword won't suffice. In order to increase your ROI, it is vital to ensure that you target the most appropriate keywords for your pages, and for your business. While generic, or very general topic keywords, may have the highest number of searches conducted in a month they are also the most competitive and typically least productive.

Competitive Keywords

The more competitive a keyword the more pages that you need to compete with in order to benefit from an SEO campaign. Many of the pages that appear at the top of the list will also be well optimized and have a powerful link profile, making it difficult to rank highly.

Improved Conversions With Targeted Keywords

General topic based keywords have also proven to have lower conversion rates compared to more specific keywords. Targeted keywords generate targeted visitors, and targeted visitors are much more likely to be active while on the pages of your website.

How Keyword Research Helps

Keyword research helps you to identify keywords that are relevant, targeted, and preferably less competitive. By finding the right blend of these factors you can minimize the time it takes to rank well, actually increase the number of visitors, and improve your conversion rates. Targeted keyword research leads to better profit opportunities and improved ROI.

Tailoring Your Keyword Research To Your Needs

Every page of a website needs to be treated as an individual project, especially in terms of marketing. Each page will usually attract different visitors in different stages of the purchasing process. Deep product pages will often catch visitors while they are at their most profitable – when they're ready to buy. General pages and even product category pages can be used to attract more general terms, but they should still be properly researched and targeted very precisely to your target market.

Niche Keywords

Niche keywords are often talked about as being the ideal variety of keywords for a page. A niche keyword is a highly targeted, very specific keyword. It is geared towards a corner of the market in which you operate and typically has very few competing pages. Niche keywords don't usually create much in the way of traffic but the traffic that they do create is highly targeted and very active. It attracts excellent conversion rates ensuring that you get a good return on your marketing investment.

Long Tail Keywords

Many web pages will gain visitors from natural keywords within the text. These long tail search terms again produce highly targeted visitors and while each individual term will not produce more than one or possibly two visitors over the space of the month, they do all add up. It is virtually impossible to research long tail keywords because of their infrequency, but by using popular keywords you heighten the chances of seeing more on your website.

Why Keyword Research Is Important

Keyword research is an important aspect of SEO because it helps to identify the terms that surfers use to access sites similar to yours. This, in turn, enables you to optimize the pages of your site and your link profile in order to attract those visitors. By doing so, you may also improve the number of long tail searches that lead to your site, and these product highly targeted visitors for little optimization effort.

Invest without losing

Heard of eBay? Who hasn't? Anyone who has even a minimal amount of internet searching under his or her belt has heard of what is becoming iconic in our world. We have turned the site into a verb even. Mothers claim to be eBay-ing their daughters' prom dresses. Men talk about eBay-ing in the evening, buying and selling at will. However, to the inexperienced person, eBay seems daunting and scary. Surfing it brings pleasure, but the fear of selling can paralyze the average e-Bay surfer. Thanks to some smart businessmen, those who wish to take advantage of the business investment opportunity available through online auctions no longer have to know how to sell. They just need an e-mail address.

Online brokers are quickly becoming a great way to sell items. The typical broker will take care of everything from listing an item to finalizing the purchase. Those looking for the business investment opportunity of online auctioning just needs to contact the broker and give him the necessary information about the product.

The typical broker will cost a seller some money in fees, but those with great reputations also have the potential to acquire a higher price for an item than a regular, unknown Joe would online. Typically a broker will have requirements. For example, many require a minimum value on the sale item. They will not sell items worth only a couple of dollars. Additionally, they will require a maximum day limit so the auction has a definite ending.

Broker fees will vary depending on both the broker and the sale price of the item. Many times, the higher an item sells for, the less percentage a broker will take. The broker should present a fee schedule so the seller can see how much the broker will take off the top. For example, if an item brings a lower amount of money, the broker will take as much as 35 percent of the profit. If it brings a larger amount of money, he will take as little as 5 percent of the profit. The broker should present a fee schedule to the seller when the seller contacts him initially. If he does not, then the seller should ask for one specifically.

The world of online brokers has revolutionized the online auction world. It has given the average Joe a great business investment opportunity, because just about anyone can market his or her product to the world, literally. Reputable brokers will maintain a high rating and reputation in the auction world, and thus the average Joe does not have to worry about doing so himself. He can just let his broker work for him while he seeks out some great products. He can spend time doing what he enjoys most: finding those quality products and taking advantage of great business investment opportunities.

Did you consider these things when buying a kids atv

Adults aren't the only ones who love to get outside and play on their ATVs, kids do too. When thinking about purchasing kids ATVs, keep several things in mind before you fork over the dough.

First off, think safety first, then size, age and experience. Kids can ride ATVs and have a lot of fun doing it, but protecting them from harm should be a key factor for all parents. Make sure that children and teens wear helmets, protective eyewear, gloves and thick shoes. Boots are best, but sturdy shoes that will provide ankle support and protect the entire foot are best. Feet often take the brunt of thrown sand, dirt and stones, so make sure they are well protected.

Kids ATVs come in all kinds of models and sizes, but the key for shopping for a kid is to find the right machine for age and size. ATVing can provide fun, action, adventure and lots of laughs, but make sure your child or teen knows safe operating procedures.

One of the most popular brands of kids ATVs is the E-ton 4-stroke model such as the Viper 70 or the Vector 250. Other brands such as the Alta Mach-1 and the Kymco Mxer 150 are also options for a range of sizes and ages.

Newer models like the E-ton Rover 90 Utility Cart are making waves in the youth ATVing world and provide a roll bar and netted protection for youngsters. The 70cc E-ton Viper 70 is the perfect size for kids weighing in at less than 130 pounds and are not more than five feet tall, as well as the 250 cc 4-stroke E-ton Vector 250.

No matter which model you decide to purchase for your youngster, make sure that they are able to reach and operate all necessary functions that will ensure safety and loads of fun. Teach children and teens proper etiquette when it comes to riding and racing kids ATVs and make sure that they are supervised.

Most ATV enthusiasts prefer the 4-stroke models for kids ATVs, as it allows for greater control and operating ease. Smaller sized ATVs in 40cc to 90cc sizes are all electric start and are equipped with automatic transmission, making them super easy for youngsters to handle. Most ATVs come with an automatic shutoff for extra safe riding and offer other safety features as well.

When shopping for kids ATVs, make sure that cheap doesn't mean dangerous. Always make sure that the machine you choose for your child or teen is equipped with safety features, is in good working condition and that your child will feel comfortable in the drivers seat.

Teaching operating safety and manners are the key to an enjoyable experience, and don't forget to teach children how to handle unexpected surprises as well. Never assume that your child will automatically react in the appropriate manner in any given situation, and make sure that you are around to teach, protect and have loads of fun with the kids ATVs.

Don t let the blues of singlehood affect you

Hi all. My name is Charles. I moved to this new city with my girlfriend few months back as she got a job here. Even I managed to get a good job here without much trying. Life was going on well until we broke up. Now I am single and it really sucks! i feel totally lost in this new city. If I were in my hometown, I would have hanged out with my friends in bars and pubs and probably I would not have minded my single stature. But as am new to this place, I hardly know anyone here to go out with. So my personal life has been kind a stagnant.

It’s been few days since I am single. Now I feel it’s not that bad to be single here. This new town is quite beautiful with lots of mountains and plantation area. I can try out exploring this town as well the nearby cities. I can go for trekking on weekends. Now I realize even I’m not ready to get back into a relationship so suddenly. So maybe I’ll remain single for some time.

But I need to meet some other single people here that I can make friendship with, so that I will have someone to talk to out here. May be I should look out the hot spots in this city where all the single people go, the good bars or clubs. Or may be I should even try for these dating sites i have heard about. Who knows if I will find someone interesting there, then I won’t have to go to a bar alone looking like someone miserable and preying on every single girl you see there. Then I don’t think life will be so boring and monotonous as it is now.

How to play texas holdem

Texas Holdem has become such a popular Game that most tournaments now days are Texas Holdem games, and there are even 2 or 3 television shows dedicated to the game. Texas Holdem is a 5 card poker game, but instead of each layer being dealt 7 cards, the dealer deals 5 cards in the center of the table, these cards are used by all the players to make the best hand possible. To make your hand each player is also dealt 2 cards and the object is to use the cards in your hand and the ones on the table to make the best hand you can.

There are 5 rounds of Texas Hold’em Poker and they are:

The Pre-Flop

The Flop

The turn

The River

The Showdown

During a Texas Holdem game between each round there is a round of betting, and is when players with bad hands may fold.

In the game of Texas Holdem the first round is the pre flop. During this round the big and the small blinds place their bets, the big and small blinds are the first two players to the dealers left. Before the players are allowed to look at their cards the small blind must place a bet of half the table minimum and the next player who is the big blind must place a bet of the table minimum and then the dealer gives each player their hole cards. The hold cards is the name of the 2 cards each player has that are exclusively theirs, these cards guarantee that each player has a chance to make a better hand then the other players, without them all you would have is the 5 communal cards.

In Texas Holdem the next round is the flop. This is when the dealer deals out the first 3 of the 5 communal cards. It is during this round that most players will fold; betting in this round is usually very conservative because 2 more cards are still needed and betting big on the chances that the cards you need are the ones that will appear is taking a big chance with your money, one that can coast you to bust out of the game early.

The third round is called the turn. The turn is when the dealer puts out the 4th communal card. At this point you can get a good idea of your chances of getting a winning hand and now is when the betting starts to heat up, and more people will drop out of the game.

The river is the last of the 5 cards to be turned over by the dealer. At this point all the cards available to make the hands have been put out, this is also the last time to bet before turning over the cards.

The last round of Texas Holdem is the showdown, this is when all players turn over their cards and a winner is declared. You now have all the information you need to start playing Texas Holdem.

Expensive health insurance ways to cut the cost

You may have noticed an increase in your health insurance premium recently. Here we examine some of the possible reasons for this and look into ways of combating them.

According to the market-research group Datamonitor, medical inflation is the reason for yearly increases of 8% in health insurance premiums. The steady progress in the development of new drugs, therapies and equipment used to diagnose medical conditions and the resulting costs are an obvious reason for this. This is understandable and everyone wants the latest in diagnostics and treatments. Equipment becomes obsolete with time and invariably the very words newer and improved mean a rise in cost.

Another reason may be that insurance risks and therefore costs increase with age. Many insurance companies still use age bands, where costs increase at the end of a ten-year period. For example, someone aged between 40 and 49 would pay their normal agreed premium. Reach the dreaded 50 and the next bracket is between 50 and 59, and so on. The increase is greater with age and could be as much as 50% in the 60 to 69 category.

Many insurers have chosen to smooth out the increases on a yearly basis. BUPA, Pruhealth and Axa PPP are three of these. Axa PPP customers, for example, should expect a rise in the cost of premiums by about 2%, due to their age. Other insurers are said to be thinking of introducing this method.

The fast rising costs of medical insurance is worrying consumers and many are making the decision to terminate their policies when they’re coming up to their 60’s and this may be just when their need is greatest. Datamonitor has issued figures showing that there was a drop of 15.2% in the number of people with private medical insurance in the 7 years prior to 2004.

With this in mind, insurers have come up with some ways to cut the costs. You could opt for an excess on the policy, effectively working out a plan to suit your budget. For instance BUPA tell us that if you were willing to pay a Ј2000 excess, you would halve your premium. An excess of Ј100 could quite well reduce your bill by around 10%.

No-claims discounts are another possible way to reduce your premium and it’s possible to obtain up to a 50% saving. You should be able to transfer this if you decide to change providers.

There’s a big variation in the way in which companies treat no claims discounts. Axa PPP offers an immediate 27.5% no claims discount at the start of a policy, but make a claim and this is lost. Not all BUPA’s policies include the provision for no claims discounts, but some do and they guarantee that in the event of a claim, the resulting rise in premium will be a maximum of 10%.

Pruehealth encourage their policyholders to stay healthy in order to reduce their premiums. You can get between 25 and 100 per cent off next year’s premium, depending on the effort you put into it. Points are given for various activities and lifestyle changes.

With all these choices, it’s an excellent time to investigate the options. Don’t just keep paying out and certainly don’t lose that valuable cover by cancelling your health insurance, just get on line and find an insurance broker who will find the right cover for you at a price to suit your budget. Your pocket will benefit too, with the on-line discount.

Decorating a child s room with tropical themes

When I think of decorating a child's room tropically, I immediately think decorating with palm trees, sand, and mischievous monkeys. A good way to begin this transformation is to go to a local craft store and look at the wall adhesives. Most of the wall-paper like pictures easily stick to the wall, are movable, and leave little or no residue when your child decides he or she wants a change.

If wall adhesives aren't your style, or you want to make the wall a little more three dimensional, then you can take simple acrylic paint and create the palm trees (which are very easy to create for a child).

After the walls are done, find either green bedding or bedding with pictures on it that will mesh well with those that you have chosen for the walls. If you cannot find bedding that you and your child think will work, go to the fabric section and look for the children's fabrics. Usually there will be several tropically themed fabrics to choose from. If you don't want to make the sheets you can always find a solid sheet set that will match well with the fabric you choose for the comforter and then either make the comforter yourself or ask a local seamstress to create the blanket for you. If you have two made one heavy and one light, then you can keep the tropical themed bedding throughout the year.

A good idea for wall art to compliment these decorations, you can either use the previously mentioned wall adhesives or have your child create their own pictures to frame and hang on the walls. If you use one wall as a mural and paint the rest with a solid tropical color your child's wall art will look impressive. Or, you can create a blackboard wall with blackboard paint and your child can continuously draw new wall art.

A tropical vacation wouldn't be complete without watching a sunset or the stars. To create this for your child you can paint a scene on the ceiling, or find star and moon wall adhesives to attach to the ceiling (that way the ceiling scene can be changed out quickly and easily).

There are several periodicals on decorating your child’s room. You can also visit local furniture stores or view online furniture stores. When designing your child’s room, it is important that you keep in mind that eventually your child will out grow his/her room. Try sticking with neutral colors.

Always remember that to make your child happiest with the room, allow them to help in the process. If their shorter, let them help you place art at their height or even, to an extent, paint the mural (there are several easy things that they can do, like paint sand or grass). Take them with you to choose the fabrics and wall art and let them help you decide where things go. They will feel a great sense of pride in the room that they helped create.

Fibromyalgia q a understanding fibromyalgia

* What is fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia, also sometimes called Fibromyalgia Syndrome, Fibromyositis, Fibrositis, or Myofascial pain syndrome, is a continual disorder characterized by extensive musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, tenderness in contained areas of the neck, spine, shoulders, and hips sometimes referred to as multiple tender points or pressure points. It may cause sleep disorders, morning firmness, irritable bowel syndrome and nervousness.

* What are the symptoms of fibromyalgia?

Though the symptoms of fibromyalgia can be unbearable, they are not serious. Symptoms may differ, depending on stress level, physical action, time of day, and the weather.

Pain is the main symptom, found in almost 100 percent of cases, particularly, pain and tenderness in some areas of the body when pressure is applied.

Fibromyalgia is a constant condition and symptoms may be continuous or irregular for years. Some of the most common symptoms of fibromyalgia consist of:

• Sleep problems

• Lack of feeling or irritations

• Unrelieved headaches

Acne treatment ten facts about acne

First Acne effects almost 90% of the adolescent population. So you are not alone. Also it is not normally anything you have done, eaten or the way you wash. So you do not need to feel guilty. So let’s look at some facts

1) Junk food causes acne. Wrong! Pizza, chocolate, coke or any other junk food has never been proven to cause this. That does not mean to say you should carry on eating all this junk food. A sensible diet is good for everyone, and helps you feel better.

2) Acne is caused by dirt. Wrong! Actually washing your face more than twice a day or scrubbing your face, with pads or flannels will make it worse. Acne treatment needs mild gentle soap and to rinse thoroughly.

3) Sweat will clear my pores. Wrong! A mixture of body sweat and oils can aggravate certain situations for some acne sufferers. Shower immediately after any sport and wear loose clothing.

4) Women’s Make-up can cause Acne. Wrong! No scientific evidence has been found to verify this. Most products today are mad to stop the clogging of the pores. So this is not the problem. Do not wear make-up though when exercising as this can irritate the problem.

5) Stress Causes Acne. Wrong! To an extent. Stress can trigger off some hormones, which could aggravate the situation. But it is not the cause.

6) You Cannot Cure Acne. But you can treat it! There are a lot of good acne treatments on the market. See your doctor.

7) Sun can help. Wrong! It can in time worsen the situation in time. A tan might give the effect that your skin looks better, but it certainly will do it no good.

8) Spot Acne Treatment Works. Wrong! The whole face has to be treated. Most of the problems are formed under the skin. So treating the top of the spot is not going to do anything.

9) You Will Outgrow It. Wrong! Acne is treatable. Don’t wait see a doctor ASAP.

10) It’s Only Cosmetic. Well Yes. It is not serious. But it can effect you, your self-esteem, and your confidence. So get it treated and become acne free.

Just a few words of advice,

Don’t pick or squeeze…Keep your hands off your face…Find something and stick with it…Do not over wash…Do not use flannels or hard scrubs…Lastly Good Luck.

Personal bankruptcy issues

As the population of the United States grows, more and more people will file for personal bankruptcy. This has become more widespread because of the circumstances of life. It can sometimes be the individual’s responsibility, and other times it can be due to issues beyond anyone’s control. It will change lives for the better in some ways and for the worst in others. Personal bankruptcy can make daily life easier to deal with because the stress of dealing with collectors has passed. It becomes easier to sleep at night knowing that there are no more debts for the person to have to pay.

On the other hand, personal bankruptcy ruins a person’s credit rating for up to ten years. It will be difficult to by a new car or a new home. If financing is available, the interest rate will be very high because the person is a credit risk. Credit cards will be hard to get, and the cards that are available will have small credit limits and high interest rates. Just about all credit opportunities will be a challenge for the person to obtain. It can make personal bankruptcy hard for some people to deal with. If this is an issue for you, you may want to think twice before filing. The need must be real in order to survive this station in life.

Personal Bankruptcy Attorneys

If you are against the wall with no other way out other than personal bankruptcy, you need to look up an attorney that handles personal bankruptcy. Make sure that the attorney that you choose is a reputable attorney that cares about people and will listen to you and your concerns. Some attorneys handle personal bankruptcies as an easy way to make money. This is the type of attorney that you want to avoid. When it comes time to deal with creditors, you want an attorney that you can trust and rely on. The attorney is there to serve you and your needs in your bankruptcy case.

Personal bankruptcy can be very stressful, and it’s important to know that someone has your best interest at heart. The ability to sleep easy at night knowing that your case is being well handled is worth the cost of an attorney. Some people want to represent themselves, but this can cause more stress and money if it is not handled correctly. Personal bankruptcy is difficult to deal with even when you do enlist the help of an attorney. It is wise for an individual to seek professional assistance in this matter, and to do so as soon as possible.

Penny stocks and the investments

Recently, investors commence sharing in the penny stocks. This action occurred especially after investors began to realize that they had the ability to invest chump change in a selection of companies. In short, investors could invest a few pennies or dollars in small companies around the United States. Since Forex and the stock market exchange industry has higher risks many newcomers to the stock market will invest in penny stocks.

Penny stocks allow investors to put up five bucks and potentially win $25. If the investors lost their money, so what, it was only a few pennies or dollars.

For the most part, it is simple to invest in penny stocks. Investors must open broker accounts online to get started. These accounts are compared to bank accounts. Brokers will charge small fees, which is subtracted from the account each time a holder invests in the stocks. These fees will cover basic account duties that the broker tends to.

Brokers do not give advice. These people invest in stock markets themselves. To get advice the investors must pay nominal fees for stock newsletters. The freebies will mislead investors, so experienced investors will avoid these offers. Most of the freebies will also direct investors' right into scammer hands.

Paid newsletters are regulated by the law. You pay a few pennies to get the information. This is a great option if you intend to invest in penny stocks.

To find a broker visit the Internet. You will find quality services and other offers to help you learn about penny stocks. Read the paid newsletters so that you know what you are getting into. NEVER step in to stock market without being informed.

You will find plenty of stock articles online too. Use the articles as your guide to learn about stock markets. Be careful since some articles may mislead you just as the free newsletters will. Make sure you search for articles that include facts and evident links to verify statements, recommendations, et cetera.

When you are informed, you get the most of your stock experiences. If you are new to the stock market, start with the penny stocks first and then move to other types of stock marketing.

Forex stock market, (Foreign Stock Market Exchange) exchange and stock markets often request that you invest a large amount of cash to get started. Learn the ropes by starting out small and then moving to larger investments in stock markets after you feel confident that you know what you are doing.

Smoking and its harmful effects

Newport's, Winston's, Salem's, Marlboro Lights

Don't matter what the kind is

Cause you got me smoking out on you

Got me puffin' 'bout a pack a night

And I know it ain't healthy

--- “Smoking Cigarettes” by Tweet

Like the phrase from the song “Smoking Cigarettes” by Tweet, smoking isn't good for one's body. Especially if you've been smoking a pack a day, and for a long period of time. But what is the full extent of the effects of smoking on your body?

The effects of smoking varies from person to person as it will depend on the person's vulnerability to the chemical in cigarette or tobacco smoke. It will also depend on the number of cigarette sticks a person smokes per day, the age when the person first started to smoke, and the number of years the person has been smoking.

According to recent studies, every year hundreds of thousands of people all over the globe die from medical complications caused by smoking. Aside from the stench it leaves on one's clothes, breath, and hair, it also has other complications. Here are some of the different effects of smoking:

l Immediate effects upon smoking a cigarette stick:

Ѓ Raises a person's blood pressure and heart rate.

Ѓ Decreases a person's blood flow to body extremities like the fingers and toes.

Ѓ The brain and the nervous system is stimulated for a short time and then reduced.

Ѓ Dizziness.

Ѓ Nausea.

Ѓ Watery eyes.

Ѓ Hyperacidity.

Ѓ Weakened sense of taste and smell.

Ѓ Loss of appetite.

l Other effects:

Ѓ Shortness of breath.

Ѓ Chronic coughing

Ѓ Reduced overall fitness.

Ѓ Yellowish stain on the smoker's fingers and teeth.

Ѓ Smokers experience more coughs and colds as compared to non-smokers.

Ѓ Difficulty recovering from minor illnesses.

Ѓ Impotence for men, infertility for women.

Ѓ Facial wrinkles appear at an early age, making them look older than non-smokers of the same age.

Because they experience these different side effects, they have a higher risk of developing diseases like:

l respiratory tract infections (like pneumonia and chronic bronchitis)

l emphysema (collapse of the small airways in the lungs)

l heart attack and other coronary diseases

l different kinds of cancers (lungs, throat, mouth, bladder, kidney, pancreas, cervix, and stomach)

l stomach ulcers

l peripheral vascular disease due to a decreased blood flow to the legs.

Once a person becomes addicted to cigarettes, they may find themselves experiencing different withdrawal symptoms when they decide to stop. These withdrawal symptoms include:

l increased nervousness and tension

l agitation

l loss of concentration

l change in sleep patterns

l headaches

l coughs

l strong cravings

For pregnant women, it is important to know that the growing child in their womb may suffer if they continue smoking. The effects of smoking to a growing fetus include: low birth weight, premature birth, or stillbirth. Even those who do not smoke are at risk of incurring diseases. Second hand smoke may cause lung cancer or heart problems to those who passively inhale smoke exhaled by smokers.

Smoking may make a person look cool or macho, but you should consider more than just how it would make you look. Keep in mind that smoking has harmful effects that can end up claiming your life. Before you light up your next cigarette, think of the various harmful effects of smoking and if you'd want that to happen to you.

El salvador casinos

El Salvador is a beautiful country in Central America to visit. If you're looking for gambling options in El Salvador, including El Salvador casinos, consider what this country has to offer.

First of all, while El Salvador is not particularly noted for its large number of casinos, at least compared to other parts of Central America, there are nonetheless a few quality and popular casinos to be found. Although using El Salvador casinos is considered the only legal form of gambling in the country, other forms of gambling are available, as well, particularly betting at horse racing and dog racing sports events. Further, El Salvador gambling is available on many cruise ships and riverboat casinos in El Salvador. Many locals and tourists frequently choose to place bets at these types of events.

As mentioned above, the only form of legal gambling in this country is through the licensed El Salvador casinos. There are two main El Salvador casinos. The biggest casino in the country, complete with legal gambling facilities, is found in the city of Guadalupe: the Siesta Hotel & Casino. This particular casino consists of four different table games and a total of 200 casino slot machines or other video terminal gaming machines. Besides the Siesta Hotel & Casino, the city of Guadalupe offers two other facilities containing slot machines only, and there are five other locations in the city for table games.

In the city of Santa Ana, you can find the Monte Carlo Casino, which is still somewhat popular among tourists, although it is not as large as the Siesta Hotel & Casino and has no gaming machines. You can also find smaller, lesser quality and sketchier El Salvador casinos and gambling joints scattered throughout the country, but these are generally considered to be for locals only and are not recommended for tourists.

Poker games are prevalent throughout the country, both in and outside the El Salvador casinos. Many locals participate regularly in large-scale tournaments, independent of the El Salvador casinos. In addition, lotteries are held regularly in El Salvador.

Gambling is slowly becoming more recognized throughout El Salvador as local entertainment for the residents, as an attraction for tourists, and as a revenue generator for businesses and the government. Whether you're looking for El Salvador casinos or other forms of gambling, you are sure to find what you're looking for while visiting this fascinating country.

Trampolines are as good for the mind as they are for the body. Laser hair removal new jersey style

For decades in this country men and women alike have been in search of the best way to remove hair and keep it off. A smooth, hairless body seems to be a trend that is here to stay as people are discovering its benefits and how easy it can really be to maintain such a look. Whether suffering from the excessive hair growth of hirsutism or simply looking to keep unwanted hair off, there are many methods, but none quite as long lasting and easy as laser hair removal New Jersey.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

Laser hair removal can be as specific and targeted as the few stray hairs on the eyebrows. At the same time it can remove hair from large areas such as the back and legs. The specific, targeted beam of light can zoom in on the roots of hair anywhere. This light then deadens the root causing the hair to fall out and not grow back.

Laser hair removal treatments are generally done in Ѕ hour to 45 minute sessions. Sometimes it takes 3 or more sessions to completely kill the roots of the whole area where hair removal is wanted.

After a laser treatment session, the skin may be a little red or irritated, but this usually goes away within a short time. The process is so non-evasive that you can return back to work. It makes going on your lunch hour or before work a viable option.

The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is permanent as soon as the individual hair root is deadened. This makes the process one of the most desirable hair removal systems for many people who don’t ever want the hair to grow back.

Laser hair removal is also able to complete this task over large areas of the skin. Men often want a hairless chest or back and women often remove hair from their legs - - both large areas and often too painstaking for waxing, tweezing, or removing with an epilator.

The laser technology associated with this form of hair removal is safe and effective for unwanted hair anywhere. It can be used to remove female pubic hair in place of bikini waxing, sugaring, or crиme hair removers. It works on armpits, eyebrows or individual stray hairs that may form on the face, breasts, and abdomen.

Caring for Skin After Laser Removal

Skin may be slightly red and a little sensitive following the laser removal procedure. This will go away quickly and painlessly.

Laser removal of hair does not affect tanning. You will still get the same quality of suntan as before being exposed to a laser, although you should not tan immediately following the procedure since skin will be highly sensitive to sunlight for a short time after laser treatment.

Apply cosmetics will be save also after a laser treatment. Laser hair removal doesn’t usually dry skin, but you may want to choose a cosmetic with a moisturizer just to keep skin radiant and healthy looking.

Eurostar or the plane

Traveling by air has always given the people of this planet the ability to hop from one continent to another in a matter of hours. There is no doubt whatsoever, airline travel has not only changed the way we travel, but it has also impacted on our daily lives.

Strawberries in the middle of winter, to packages sent the same day from the other side of the world. The aero plane has certainly made a big impact on society.

The airliner and the airlines have been the predominant choice for the majority of business people and holidaymaker's alike, looking for quick, efficient and nowadays, a cheap way to travel. There are of course alternative ways to travel, but to some, seem a little outdated.

Many years ago, the train was the lifeblood of countries and economies. The train system, certainly in the UK can leave a lot to be desired at times, but this has been due to the continued under investment from successive governments.

Since the opening of the Channel tunnel in the late 90's, the Eurostar train system linking the UK to mainline Europe has seen progressive growth, despite earlier faltering's. Now this service seems likely to be the major opposition to the low cost airlines flying from the UK to Europe, especially from airports in the London area.

Typically, a flight from London Heathrow to Paris Charles De Gaul (CDG) airport takes just under 1 hour. That seems really quick especially if you need to be in Paris for a business meeting. Now consider these points. London Heathrow is not actually in the centre of London, nor is Paris (CDG). The distance from London Heathrow to the the centre of London is approximately 15 miles, and is pretty much the same from Paris (CDG) to the centre of Paris. With that said, that 1 hour doesn't seem so appealing after all.

We arrived at the check in point at London Waterloo International at just after 14:00. The train we were due to travel on departed at 15:11, calling at Calais and Paris Gare de Nord (the north station). We had traveled by tube to get to Waterloo station, which took about 25 minutes, involving 1 change at Leicester square at a cost of Ј2 per person.

We had taken the opportunity to book the tickets for the Eurostar in good time and received a great deal. For just Ј59 return, per person, our total spend so far had totaled Ј120. Two Eurostar tickets at Ј59, and two underground tickets at Ј2 each. We had looked at flying from Heathrow with British Airways and their cheapest fare was Ј69 per person. Not much difference in the price, but the travel to heathrow and also from Paris (CDG) would probably equate to the same again. Not a good choice.

After initial security and passport controls, we took our seats at 14:55. At exactly 15:11 the train glided effortlessly out of the station with the view of the magnificent London Eye visible to our right. So far so good.

The journey out of London takes you through the suburbs of Brixton and then finally out into the countryside. It seems a little dated on the English side as regards the state of the railway, but after about 35 minutes into the journey, we turn off the old victorian railway onto the brand new, recently commissioned UK high speed line and race along the kent countryside at speeds up to 300kmh (186 mph).

It doesn't seem long before we are going to say goodbye to England and the announcement informs us that the transit time in the Channel Tunnel will be approximately twenty minutes. In no time at all, we exit the tunnel to a glorious blue sky in France.

After making a stop at Calais, we have about an hour and twenty minutes before we reach our final destination. Racing through the French countryside and negotiating the Paris suburbs, we arrive two minutes early. It really was a great journey on Eurostar, and now we are at the very heart of Paris. Those people who had decided to take the plane would now be fighting for taxis or taking the RER train system into city centre. Another 30 to 40 minutes more to add to the journey, not to mention the cost.

The total journey time from the centre of London to the centre of Paris had taken us a measly 2 hours and 40 minutes (approx). This is due to be slashed to around 2 hours and 15 minutes once the remainder of the UK high speed rail link is commissioned in 2007. Once the line is opened, Eurostar will be moving homes and will no longer operate from London Waterloo, transferring to London St. Pancras.

The aero plane laid claim to the king of transportation. After traveling with Eurostar, we say the king is dead, long live the king. Airline domination from London to Paris and Europe has finally had it's day.

Removing makeup - how to cleanse your makeup at the end of the day

The prettiest makeup finish starts with the cleanest skin. The first step to clean, clear skin is thoroughly removing makeup with the right products. There’s certainly no shortage of products to choose from. It’s best to pick the one that’s made for your skin type. Here are some popular options.

The two simple rules for choosing a makeup removal product are: don’t use something that’s too harsh on your skin and avoid cleansers that leave a greasy residue. Beyond that, the right one for you depends on how you expect the product to perform. If you have dry, flaky skin, use an exfoliating or a moisturizing cleanser. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, a product with salicylic acid may be the one for you.

Simply the Best makeup remover claims to take off even the most stubborn makeup, like semi-permanent eyeliner and waterproof mascara, without all the scrubbing and rubbing that can irritate sensitive skin. Ponds offers Clean Sweep Cleansing & Makeup-Removing Towelettes. This cleanser comes in the form of a moist wipe that contains natural ingredients like green tea ginseng, cucumber extract, aloe, cornflower and chamomile in addition to cleansers. This product requires no rinsing, just wipe your face with the cloth and throw it in the trash when you’re finished.

Generally, any cleanser with do double duty as a face-makeup remover. However, the eyes are usually a different story for a couple of reasons: The skin around the eye is especially sensitive and some cleansers may irritate the eyeball itself. Not many products are marketed solely as face-makeup removers, but many say they are exclusively for taking off eye makeup.

Kiehl’s Supremely Gentle Eye Makeup Remover is said to clean fast and rinse completely. Nivea’s Visage Eye Makeup Remover works well and is inexpensive. It sounds oversimplified, but it’s not a bad idea to gauge a product by the effort it takes to work. Your lashes have a higher purpose than just making your eyes look pretty. Excessive scrubbing can inflame the eye and break or pull out lashes you need to protect your eyes from debris.

If you can’t seem to find just what you’re looking for in a store-brought product, have no fear, for home remedies abound. A baking soda paste will take off stubborn substances, like stage makeup and dark lipstick. No-tear formula baby shampoo cleans without irritation or residue. Applying a small amount of olive oil with a soft cloth will remove makeup and leave lashes shiny and moisturized. The same result can be achieved with baby oil, but it’s more likely to leave behind a film, as is Vaseline. If you prefer an oilier product, you can follow it up with an astringent, just be very careful not to get any in your eye.

This is the most central beach and has a magnificent promenade of bars and restaurants running along its kilometre of golden sand (100m wide). One of the most popular beaches on the island, it has lifeguards, showers, changing areas, washrooms, rentals for beds/parasols, boats and water sports equipment. Our fourth beach at Playa de Los Pocillos, is located at the more exclusive end of Puerto Del Carmen. The beach has fine golden sand and forms part of the development known by same name. It is more than a kilometre long (1,23 m) and 150 m. wide. High tide leaves pools of sea water on its flat surface. Our fifth beach at Playa de Matagorda, part of the development by the same name has a windy beach measuring 850m and 40m wide, consisting of fine golden sand and calm waters, which make it a popular resort for windsurfing, particularly those of limited capability or beginners. Due to its proximity to the airport and the occasionsl noise from aircraft taking off and landing, it is not as crowded as the other beaches in this area, but it is nevertheless worth a visit. This beach has rentals for beds/parasols and a variety of water sports on hand. You can get to it by guaguas (autobus).

Our sixth beach is at Lima and measures 900m long and 50m wide, consisting of fine toasted sand (mix of fine golden sand and small picon, the small lava stones), this is a windy beach with calm waters, again ideal for first time windsurfers. This is located alongside the Matagorda development and can be reached by guaguas (autobus).

Finally, our seventh beach is a small cove at Peсa Grande and measures 40m long by 5m wide, consisting of fine white sand (and the odd pebble). Despite it’s small size, it is nevertheless a windy beach with calm waters and offers full services including lifeguards, showers, first aid, bars/restaurants, showers, parking and telephones. It also has a small promenade and can be reached by guaguas (autobus).

Disabled children and commercial playground equipment

"Play is an important part of your child’s physical, social, intellectual and emotional development," according to KidsHealth. org. Here at Creative Recreational Systems, we believe that children of all ages and disabilities should enjoy the same quality playground experience. This is why we work hard to comply with ADA requirements and safety guidelines.

Safety experts suggest that the safest surfacing for playgrounds is either wood chips or rubber surfacing. However, wood chips do not provide a sturdy enough surface for wheelchairs to maneuver. ASTM standards state that for wheelchair access, surfaces are required to be "firm, stable, and slip resistant" as specified in ADAAG. This is why Creative Systems specializes in SofTile surfacing, a surface that is durable enough to withstand weather and wear, soft enough to cushion, and sturdy enough to provide easy wheelchair access. We supply and install ADA compatible ramps so that your playground can be fully accessible to those disabled. We also offer a large variety of playground equipment which we can personalize and combine to meet your unique needs. We supply ground level play components, such as swings and stand alone climbers, to accommodate ground play for disabled children. Our elevated play components also meet ADA requirements by being wheelchair accessible.

Many of our site furnishings also meet ADA standards. We offer ADA compliant picnic tables that provide easy wheelchair access at both ends, as well as rounded corners for added safety. When possible, we try to exceed the ADA guidelines to provide increased accessibility and opportunities. At Creative Systems, we strive to give all children a fulfilling, educational, fun, and overall safe environment in which to play.

Don t pay extra for debt consolidation loans

If you have a high balance of outstanding debt, you may want to consider debt consolidation. By using debt consolidation services, you can reduce your interest rate, the amount you are repaying and ultimately reduce the stress caused by this debt. The choice is yours, though. You can choose debt relief consolidation services that are either “for-profit” or “free”. For-profit services usually charge a flat monthly fee but with other charges applied beyond that flat fee On the other hand, free consolidation services are associated with creditors and therefore only charge the flat fee per month. This, obviously, saves the debtor money in the end. He or she is, in fact, trying to reduce their debt and incur additional unnecessary expenses when alternatives are available.

A benefit to free debt consolidation companies is that their services go far beyond just consolidation of credit cards and debt loans. The subsidies they receive from their supporting creditors give them more freedom to more thoroughly help those with poor credit. They are able to afford the risk. This is one reason why those with poor credit ratings prefer these services over the for-profit consolidation companies. Those with poor credit will benefit from those companies offering education on consumer debt repair. Repairing your credit rating is an important aspect of improving your entire financial future.

In addition to choosing the right company, the actual consolidation program will also be extremely important in your decision-making, especially for those severely in debt. For individuals in such a situation, accelerated debt consolidation is probably the best consolidation program. The accelerated program is similar to regular consolidation but rather separates the debt into unsecured and secured, only consolidating the unsecured debts. You can get lower rates and a faster repayment plan through accelerated consolidation programs, but the more secured debt you have, the more difficult it will be in obtaining this plan. The most common types of unsecured debt today are personal loans, credit cards and department store cards. Secured debts involve collateral, or an asset to secure the loan such as a house or car.

Whether you choose accelerated or regular debt consolidation, do not underestimate the benefits of a “free” debt consolidation organization. Not only are you saving money in unnecessary fees, the services they are able to offer the consumer can equip you with money management skills to better secure your long-term financial health by eliminating debt and repairing your credit.

Engagement - what women really experience before the wedding

The flowers, the dress, the caterer, the guest list. Our focus during engagement is obvious - the ever so important details in planning the perfect wedding. Yet if we can manage to tear ourselves away from the 5th revision of the seating chart for just a moment, we realize that engagement is one of the most significant psychological transitions in our lives, packed with an assortment of tangled emotions and conflicting feelings. Inside the newly engaged woman often lie fear, anxiety, sadness and loss. It is these important internal details, so largely ignored by conventional wedding guides and planners, that an engaged woman must face and confront if she ever hopes to arrive at the altar fully prepared to enter into a healthy marriage.

Feelings of loss?

There is no other time in your life when you are truly giving up one identity for another. The transition is more complex than simply taking a new last name, a literal change of identity and a decision that brings with it its own set of questions and anxieties. You are also giving up your symbolic identity as a single woman, even a child. Women often worry, "I'm losing my youth," or, "I won't be able to relate to my single girlfriends." A stage in your life, the only stage you have ever experienced, is ending, and many women experience feelings of loss as a chapter closes on their lives.

What if…

As one chapter closes, another begins. A chapter of commitment and togetherness. This new stage brings forth feelings of joy and excitement, but fear and uncertainty are also involved. You are entering into a partnership with another human being, causing your future's happiness to rely so heavily on the actions of another. Needless to say, this realization can expose feelings of fear. What if our marriage doesn't last? What if he cheats on me? What if I cheat on him? What if the passion fades and we grow apart? What if something terrible happens to him? These questions can penetrate the veneer of even the most outwardly joyous bride.

Am I making a mistake?

Popular culture and society seems to conveniently ignore these questions and uncertainties. As engaged women, we hear a barrage of "congratulations!" and "what will your dress look like?" when we announce the big news. Even those closest to us neglect to recognize the importance of more internally probing questions and advice during our engagement. As a result, many women begin to question their readiness for marriage. Any feeling less than euphoric is deemed as indication of making a mistake, as we have been conditioned to believe that anxiety and confusion are a reflection of "not being ready" or choosing the wrong partner. Thus, instead of accepting and discussing these feelings, we distract ourselves with the wedding planning and ignore our internal emotions.

Harness and Accept your feelings!

In reality, these thoughts could not be more normal. In every other major life transition, simultaneous feelings of loss and gain are not only expected, but encouraged. When you graduated high school, when you graduated college, when you moved away from your hometown, when you left your first job for a better opportunity, those around you understood and sympathized with your conflicting emotions. But did those feelings of sadness and loss hinder you from taking that next step and succeeding with flying colors? Of course not. You allowed yourself to address and analyze your thoughts, and then you proceeded with the change. This is exactly what you need to do during your engagement as you prepare for your journey to the altar and marriage. Realize that feelings of sadness and anxiety are normal, allow yourself to feel these feelings, and discuss and analyze them with those around you. Don't allow your friends and family to focus on the wedding planning process to the exclusion of your internal struggles.

The engagement stage involves more than simply planning a big party. It involves introspection and emotional analysis. It involves open communication with your fiancй, family and friends. It involves acceptance of fear and sadness. Once a bride realizes the complexity of this transition, she can address her emotions and move forward in planning for both a fabulous party and a successful next chapter in her life.

A lesson in gaslighting

There's a psychological technique called gaslighting which is incredibly potent especially in persuasive situations.

A few nights ago I was watching TV, just flipping around aimlessly, and came upon an old episode of M*A*S*H. In this episode, BJ is bored and to entertain himself he cooks up a plan for amusement at Winchester's expense.

BJ takes a pair of Winchester's pants and in their place replaces them with a pair two sizes too large. When Winchester eventually puts the pants on, BJ asks if Winchester is okay. He mentions that he's noticed him looking a little under the weather and suggests that he maybe has a virus because he's looking too thin.

Later, BJ replaces the pants that are too large, with a pair that are way too small. When Winchester changes again, BJ casually notices how heavy Winchester has become, which has a dramatic effect on Winchester, prompting him to go on a crash diet.

Hawkeye, having observed the interactions, asks BJ, "What's next?"

"Tomorrow he gets taller," BJ responds.

This illustrates the very essence of gaslighting. In this instance, gaslighting is a harmless prank. Gaslighting also has the potential to be quite dangerous and cruel when used with malice. So why am I writing about it? So that you might protect yourself from it should someone try to use it against you.

With all of the persuasion techniques I teach, know that they are incredibly powerful tools and when used without integrity will get you nowhere fast. They should always be used ethically and with integrity.

The term gaslighting came from the 1944 film of the same name and came to be defined as the ruthless manipulation of a person into believing something that isn't true.

In 'Gaslighting' the husband tries to convince his wife that she's insane so that she'll have to be institutionalized, thus getting her out of his way. His subtle manipulations cause her to doubt her own grasp on reality.

Using gaslighting in a way that is not unethical could include understanding how your affluent prospect interprets their own reality.

The technique of gaslighting has five main strategies.

The first strategy involves repeatedly questioning a person thus planting doubt.

If you watch game shows, you'll notice that they use this to raise the level of tension and oftentimes this results in the contestant doubting their decision. "Are you sure? Is this really your final answer?"

This can be accomplished without even speaking. Picture someone cocking their head, raising their eyebrow. This can install in the receiver that doubt putting them off guard.

It works all the better if you come off as having their best interest in mind.

The second strategy is to point out things that simply aren't there.

This is useful in undermining their feeling of reality. It can also be used in pointing out assets and qualities in a person who has no idea that they have these assets and qualities (whether or not they actually do).

For example, appealing to your boss', client's, prospect's or authority figure's sense of vanity or ego can work tremendously.

If the ego massage is completely without merit and the compliments are baseless, then you'll most likely be discovered. Use subtlety with tiny portions of reality.

Strategy number three is primarily for the use of experts--someone who has specialized knowledge or divine access to information which you haven't the 'connections' to learn. ..i. e. think therapist, minister, psychics. They have very esoteric, mysterious or specialized knowledge that will give you the answer you seek. Rather, the answer that they wish for you to believe you seek.

This will cause lowered defenses and a more trusting feeling from the client.

Strategy number four is to reveal the secret thoughts of others.

This is also known as gossip. It's a special kind of gossip which maneuvers in an attempt to give insight. It's just between 'us', it's from me, someone who cares enough to tell you what other people are saying. . .

This can be used with 'nice gossip' i. e. compliments about that person that you weren't supposed to share. It can install positive behavior.

And last, but not least, the final strategy is to use the power of the many against the tiny power of one.

You'll see this used by children, politicians, in religion, through the media, by the military, and throughout society.

Orwell called it 'group think' and as the corporations gain more and more control over the distribution of information, it becomes harder and harder to find accurate information, and even harder to stand away from the crowd, especially when you're right.

It's powerful to have 'the many' on your side, and very difficult to maintain your position when you're up against the many.

Gaslighting isn't nice. It's designed to trick people into self-doubt. And yet, there are positive ways it can be used.

Good debt management will help you with debt

Just when you are about to buy a car, or request a mortgage for your house, is not the time to find out that you have bad credit. If you have been behind in paying many of your bills, or if you have never checked your credit report and there are some negative things on it, this may be the case. Usually bad credit results from failure to pay off your credit card bills on time. Everyone has to realize that once you have high debts on your credit card, and you can only afford to pay the minimum, you have to stop using them and start paying them down. Otherwise, watch your credit rating sink. There is one way to improve your credit, and that is through a debt consolidation loan.

A debt consolidation loan company will do two important things for you. First they will negotiate with your creditors to lower interest rates so you can better afford to pay the monthly bill. Then they will put all of the bills onto one larger bill so that you only have to face one total, lower payment.

There is a big benefit to having only one bill. It is very stressful to have to face all of those bills piling up on your desk each month. With a debt consolidation loan, you pay the one big bill on time, and, since you will be able to pay that bill on time, you will cancel all of the negative marks on your credit report over time. Once you are viewed as a good credit risk, you will no longer have the same problems getting a loan of any type and at a good interest rate.

Doesn't make sense to you? Are you asking "How do I take out a loan for a loan?" A debt consolidation company does, indeed give you a loan, totaling more than your total credit card debt. From the proceeds of that loan, you pay off all of the credit cards, There are many types of debt consolidation loans. As a homeowner, you may want to consider an equity loan on your home in order to consolidate all of your other debt.

As with any financial decision, you should make sure you check all the facts completely on a debt consolidation loan. Make sure you understand the interest rate, the repayment terms and make sure that they are actually better than the situation you are in now.

One of the fastest and easiest ways to consolidate your debt is to do it online. There are those who are not familiar with the concept of debt consolidation loans, and may spend a lot of time and money searching all over for a good loan. Meanwhile, with the use of the internet, they could be searching hundreds, if not thousands of places that offer debt consolidation loans. And they never have to leave their desks.

If you have decided to consolidate your debt, there are plenty of sites to help you, and they are just a click away. No matter how or why you have decided to consolidate your debt, be it using your home as equity, be it to assist in the educational goals of you or your children, you can find a debt consolidation counselor. A debt consolidation counselor will assess all of your needs, your income and expenses, your assets and liabilities and then find the best program and rates based on your personal circumstances.

These specialists will also help you form a budget so that you can stay within your goals and continue to pay your debt on time. There are many different types of debt consolidator specialists, ranging from credit report analysts, financial education specialists, housing advisers, debt management services and personal credit card counselors.

Crash dvd review

Nominated for six Academy Awards, and winner of Best Picture, Crash is more than deserving of the critical acclaim surrounding its release. Probing the deepest recesses of racism, prejudice, and discrimination in modern day America, the film forces viewers to examine their own tendencies to create and foster stereotypes. More importantly, it does so in a way that doesn’t accuse, blame, or pursue a political agenda. In fact, Crash even touches on the shortcomings of political correctness and how some people have allowed outside perceptions to affect personal judgment, often to their own detriment. Written and directed by Paul Haggis, author of the Million Dollar Baby screenplay, Crash is a thoughtful piece of social commentary wrapped in a storyline ripe with conflict and suspense.

Crash follows numerous characters living in and around Los Angeles as they deal with racial perceptions, prejudices, and stereotypes in their daily lives. Jean Cabot (Sandra Bullock) struggles with her inability to trust her own instincts following a car-jacking which leaves her teetering on the brink of a mental breakdown. Meanwhile, police officer John Ryan (Matt Dillon) harasses African-Americans as a result of the prejudices he developed following his father’s bankruptcy years ago. Lucien (Dato Bakhtadze) and his wife Elizabeth (Karina Arroyave) find their own biases and self-perceptions erupting to the surface of their marriage following a traumatic encounter with Officer Ryan. The consequences of Ryan’s hatred have a rippling effect, a theme which is repeated in countless other social exchanges between store owners, locksmiths, detectives, and hockey enthusiasts. In short, Crash sets out to jar its audience into recognition of the enormous consequences of racial prejudice, no matter how “minor” we may believe those attitudes may be.

The cast of Crash is superb. Don Cheadle completes his graduation from the front desk of The Golden Girls spin-off Golden Palace by turning in a second blockbuster performance within a matter of months (Hotel Rwanda would be the other). Like other characters from the film, Cheadle’s Graham is unable to fully develop due to time constraints, yet he manages to come across as a sympathetic and flawed character. The same can be said of Matt Dillon’s portrayal of Officer John Ryan. He isn’t a mere hatemonger skinhead, but rather a caring individual who developed detrimental prejudice based on past events from his childhood. In the end, like many of the film’s characters, the audience gets a glimpse of his good side.

Overall, Crash is an excellent film that lives up to the notoriety and hype. For the typical viewer, it will evoke myriad emotions – hatred of racism, loathing of man’s inhumanity to man, empathy, self-reflection, and an awareness of how one’s own prejudices may affect others. Paul Haggis brilliantly illustrates the consequences of widespread attitudes harboring racist, prejudicial, discriminatory, and stereotypical overtones. He does so without pointing fingers or assigning blame. Everyone is guilty; no race, gender, class, or ideology is spared. Crash also probes the depths of American prejudice by addressing the unintended consequences of both affirmative action and political-correctness. It’s this reluctance to strictly adhere to an ideological agenda that empowers Crash with its universal appeal. By not being preachy, the film is better able to relate its themes to viewers from every type of background and perspective. It’s an entertaining film. Hopefully, it also makes each us think twice about the way in which we relate to our fellow man. If so, then Crash is more than just a film; it’s a world-changing experience.
